Cops in Ireland have browsed a suspected illegal pub, or “shebeen”, on suspicion of breaching coronavirus steps.
The property near Athy in County Kildare was targeted by Gardai officers on Friday night.
The force had introduced an investigation after they became conscious of the facilities, and the fact individuals were congregating in a breach of social distancing rules, through social networks.
Gardai searched the thought shebeen at about 8pm and found a completely functional bar in a repurposed state.
Shebeen is an Irish term which refers to an illegal bar or club where alcoholic drinks are sold without a licence.
The properties was fitted with a bar, stools, tables, chairs, a 70 in flat-screen tv, and a full-size swimming pool table.
There were numerous beer taps on the bar, in addition to an under bar cooler and kegs.
There was also a cigarette smoking location, store space and toilet on the facilities.
