Cooper on election results: ‘There is a lot of status quo’

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP)– North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper stated in a news conference on Thursday that he will continue to press forward with his objective of broadening Medicaid at a time when voters chose to maintain GOP control of both chambers of the Legislature

” There is a lot of status quo, however I do believe that my election, and by the margin, it shows that individuals do desire us to close this healthcare coverage space, especially in the middle of a pandemic when so lots of people don’t have access to affordable health care,” Cooper said.

Senate leader Phil Berger and House Speaker Tim Moore stated at a Wednesday news conference that they didn’t view Cooper’s win as a regulation to use more Medicaid protection.
