Over the years, there is no denying that smartphones have become a little less exciting. Samsung and Apple dominated the spotlight with their new phones until Huawei entered the market. After years of wild innovation from the Chinese manufacturer, Donald Trump shot himself in the foot and influenced the market definitely.
Although Huawei has impressively launched several amazing phones and developed the Huawei AppGallery at an impressive pace, giving up the world made available by Android with Google support is not for the moment for everyone. And Oppo knows this.
I was looking forward to getting my hands on the new OPPO Reno 4 5G, and actually Oppo did their part in giving us a unit for analysis a few weeks ago but bad luck happened and we are only now ready to publish our analysis.
Thank you Oppo for the good work in making sure we were able to show our readers our opinion about Oppo Reno4 5G.

If you have never heard of Oppo, please be aware that these specifications are very close to Pixel 5. The phones they manufacture are top of the line. Let’s dive a little deeper into these specifications.
Design Oppo Reno4 5G
OPPO Reno 4 5G does not reinvent the wheel when it comes to design, but offers a solid and versatile look. The frames are quite thin, but there are percentile lower and upper margena, at the top margin we have a physical column instead of the speaker under the screen. We actually have almost 90% screen-body ratio.
For me, the most important thing here is that design is not an area where OPPO saves to cut costs. This is a phone that conveys a premium feel just like any other FlagShip on the market, but keep in mind, this phone, instead, targets the upper intermediate layer smartphone market.
Oppo Reno4 5G Battery
I’m going to have to be totally honest and admit that it’s become harder to test the battery life. The various types of VOCID restrictions mean big changes in how much I use a phone. I am never too far away from my charger and sometimes I charge when I am sitting at my desk.
It is difficult to run out of battery because we are all at home all the time. That said, the Reno 4 5G battery has surprised. The battery is not as impressive as the Huawei Mate 40 Pro which, in my opinion, is still the only current FlagShip that offers a genuine two-day battery. But I always come to the end of the day with the Reno4 5G with about 35% remaining power.
The funny thing is that due to OPPO’s remarkable charging technology, the battery capacity doesn’t even have to be as good.
I know, it sounds like a ridiculous thing to say, but OPPO’s SuperVOOC 2.0 charging is maybe one of the craziest things I’ve ever seen on a smartphone. This is a fast 65W charger that can charge 60% of 0% in just 15 minutes. This phone’s battery goes from zero to full in just 36 minutes.
This is crazy compared to the battery charging time of other competitors like Samsung. It is a different level of impressive.
One feature that is missing on the Rhine 4 5G and that I personally miss is wireless charging. For this price we counted on it and makes the various wireless chargers I have around the house useless objects. Apple is making progress to standardize wireless charging and next year may even launch a smartphone without a charging port, although it is not a big problem for many, omitting wireless charging may quickly make this phone obsolete in the future.
Oppo Reno4 5G Camera
The Reno 4 5G proves to be a great photo phone. Although it is not comparable with cameras like Huawei’s with the Leica signature, the internal sensor of Sony is impressive. The Rhein 4 5G is good, but I took some disappointing photos. A slight movement when shooting with Portrait mode or an over-exposed selfie at random, but the vast majority of photos came out with an impressive end result.
The funny thing about cameras on smartphones is that different people will have very different results, I will try to leave some of my personal preferences and d
