The Russian President, Vladimir Putin, assured today that he will not congratulate the winner of the U.S. presidential election until the political and judicial struggle between the President-elect, Joe Biden, and the royal tenant of the White House, Donald Trump.
” I want to assure you that here there is no motivation , it’s not a question of liking one and not liking the other. We are simply waiting for the end of the political confrontation,” Putin said on the Russian public television program “Moscow.
Putin, one of the few leaders who has yet to congratulate Biden on his victory in the November 3 election, insisted that it is a purely “official” matter.
” We respect everyone, the current President Trump and the candidate for office, Mr. Biden. That’s why there’s no problem for us ,” he said.
He said that Russia will work “with any personality that receives the trust of the American people”, but he added that the victory of that figure must be recognized by the competition or be legally confirmed after the final certification of the election results.
