 Supreme Court Sets Trump a Bitter Setback on Tax Returns

The Supreme Court on Monday rejected another attempt by Donald Trump to avoid handing over his accounting records to a New York prosecutor, allowing the latter to continue his examinations against the former president, which could ultimately lead to charges.

Solicited by the lawyers of the former New York City convict, the Supreme Court refused to overturn the decision of a federal judge who had ordered eight years’ worth of tax and bank statements to Manhattan attorney Cyrus Vance, who had been demanding them for months.

The Supreme Court had already ordered Donald Trump in July 2020 to hand over these documents to the prosecutor, but the tycoon’s lawyers have been stonewalling him
