President Donald Trump on Tuesday, on his final complete day in office and after having run out public view for more than a week, launched a taped “farewell address to the nation,” looking for to rebuild a badly damaged tradition just hours prior to was set to leave Washington behind.

Speaking from scripted remarks straight into the camera and standing behind a lectern with the presidential seal, Trump did acknowledge a new administration would take office.
