Democratic candidate Joe Biden was declared the winner of the U.S. presidential election on Saturday after a close race that kept the country on tenterhooks for five days.

The U.S. media, including NBC, CNN, ABC and the Associated Press, all reported Biden’s victory shortly before 11:30 a.m. (local time) after a vote count in Pennsylvania allowed the Democratic candidate to cross the threshold of 270 electors. In his first reaction, Republican rival kid Donald Trump does not seem ready to give in. He immediately accused Biden of “rushing to the polls and falsely claiming to be the winner”

Counts are still in progress in Pennsylvania, Arizona, Nevada and Georgia, but Biden leads in all four states. Trump would have needed to win all three states to win the White House.
