United Airlines is investigating the leak of Texas Sen. Ted Cruz’s flight info for a trip to Cancun, Mexico earlier this week, Politico reported
Cruz drew extreme reaction this week for taking a trip to Cancun with his family while Texas was in the middle of a devastating blackout caused by a winter storm.
In an initial statement on Thursday, Cruz stated he went on the journey since he desired “to be an excellent father” and added that he meant to return to the United States that afternoon.
” With school cancelled for the week, our women asked to take a trip with buddies,” he stated. “Wishing to be a good father, I flew down with them last night and am flying back this afternoon.”
An editor at Thrifty Tourist tweeted out what seemed Cruz’s flight information showing that the senator prepared to travel back Thursday afternoon. However Skift’s Edward Russell tweeted that he spoke to a source at United who said Cruz had only made the return booking around 6 a.m. ET on Thursday and was initially set up to come back on Saturday.
