Wales sees highest rise in unemployment of any part of the UK

The latest unemployment figures for the UK show that Wales has experienced the biggest rise in the UK, with 22,000 fewer jobs than before as the coronavirus pandemic continues to hammer the labour market.
Official figures from the Office for National Statistics’ figures released on Tuesday show the rate of unemployment for Wales is now 4.6%, and 4.9% across the whole of the UK, up from 4.8% in the previous month.
Ian Price, Confederation of Business Industry Wales Director, said: “Another bleak set of figures this month, with Wales seeing another rise in unemployment. It just shows how hard businesses and households are being hit by the pandem
